Luke Dzierek reveals to DJmag.com how to make a beat with Ableton Live.

I have never used the software myself. I am a Reason Fanatic. Version 3.0 to be exact.

Here are the pictures of the equipment that I bought to start out with. The idea I had was that I buy equipment cheap enough to start practicing with so its not a crazy initial investment but good enough to make a mix tape or doa gig with.

I think I did well.

The Mixer:

The CD Player:

Next I need an amp and some good speakers. But I will wait for those because I am running everything thru my Tascam US122 soundcard which I also use to record artists when doing a track. The speakers I use are my monitor speakers, which are M-Audio BX5s. They get loud enough to mess around with but the 5" woofers are not suitable for good loud sound. I am scared toreally push them.

I want to do a reggae mixtape (cd) for old times sake.

Till next time!

I finally bought my set up.

About a week ago, when I got my first check after the raise, I went to the local electronic store and purchased a dual cd player along with a mixer. Both are from Numark.

I started testing it out, after burning cds to mix with. Smooth.

I am in extacy.

I just got a raise so I will finally be able to start aquiring equipment. I kind of put things on hold because of finances. Who wouldn't with today's economy although a little better than a year ago.

I will post the equipment that I want to get soon.

Peace.

Two weeks ago I decided to be a dj.

I normally make beats for artists but I always wanted to rock the crowd. This is my journey.
